wow. the site has changed... well i heres a little history lesson. first started out as a traditional martial artist in Tang Soo Do (which i still do as my base disipline). i heard of a local tournament and thought id go. well simply put, i sucked. my 'way' of doing things didnt make a good enough show. but i did meet and learn that there was a new world of martial arts!! XMA! (haha) so i decided to check it out. it was so cool and flashy. but turns out i discover it was a waste of my time with in the 'actual' world. it had no self defense concept! around that time i was at a cross road. either keep it tradtitional(which had become jaded with little inspiration) or quit. well i turn the tv on one day and i watched for the first time a cage fighting show. i thought it was pretty barbarac at first but it was a reallity show and better yet it was a marathon. man i loved it. well its been a long time since then and let me tell you, if i had met myself when i first came to this site then id slap myself silly. Along with my Tang Soo Do, i also incorporate Muay Thai, Wrestling(yes i wrestle for school), and Gracie Jiu Jitsu. now really, who here could walk out fully condfident as a black belt, and take what ever life throws at you? and if your one of those ignorant, biassed kinda persons dont respond. peace

Hey xmafanatic here, Anybody here fans of matt emig. I am one of his biggest. I am going to see him in january for privates. I cant wait!!! I really don't know where to start. I have always been in love with martial arts but I could never find the support and motivation. Along with the necessity of working to support a family. Now I am 38 nocking the doors of 39. I do understand that i could never become THAT awesome martial artist but do I still have hope ?!! . If I commit to myself now that I have the time.

I just joined a TDK Program near by my place, but now i want to jump into the XMA world, but unfortunetly i cant find any XMA in Greensboro, NC if anyone knows of any place around that would be awesome as i really want to get into. It seems it aint really for defending yourself it seems more like the style of it is just impressive. There was probably an XMA place in NY thats where i moved from i'm orginally from Brooklyn but anyhow, any help is appreicated thanks chris

Thank God this site is back and running!!!!11 I have been wating forever for it. So excited about new school open in farfield New Jersey. What a relief, I am right around the corner. Training hard for my black belt test in December. 6 hours of pain but it will be worth it.

lets say u have always wanted to get into xma but never really got to, so instead of having the ability to go to xma u practiced at home on the floor and learned some moves on ur own, for example u learn a butterfly kick, butterfly twist, handstand,front handspring, cartwheel,1 handed cartwheel, and a nice no handed coil up, along with some other cool movesthen one day ur are suddenly able to start classes,would u have to still take the lower ranking class because u are a begginer at the skool or will u be able to jump ahead to where u think u are??plz answer!
